“Society 5.0,” the future society envisioned by Japan, is a human-centered society where cyber space and physical space are merged to achieve both economic development and solutions to social issues. This is described as “a society that is sustainable and resilient, ensures safety and security, and enables each individual to attain happiness in diverse ways.” Working toward the realization of “Society 5.0,” we are participating in the third phase (R5-R9) of the SIP, a national project to promote integrated R&D through industry–academia–government collaboration to solve social issues and strengthen economic and industrial competitiveness.
