NiX Yatsuo Solar Power

Among natural energy sources, we are focusing on solar power generation, which has a relatively short period of time from construction to operation and are working on mega solar projects utilizing the feed-in tariff (FIT) system for natural energy. The first power plant, NiX Yatsuo Solar Power, began operation in October 2014. This facility is part of Toyama City's “Environmental Model City” initiative to reduce CO2 emissions to prevent global warming, and Nix New Energy Co., Ltd. is cooperating to promote renewable energy and local revitalization.

  • Started operation: October 2014
  • Authorized output: 1,260 kW
  • Annual power generation: 1,233 MWh(for 300 ordinary households)
  • Facility utilization rate: 11.2%

Hiraso River Small Hydro Power Plant

The Erosion Control Division of the Public Works Department of Ishikawa Prefecture has set three policies of “local production for local consumption of energy,” “improvement of the environment around the erosion control dam,” and “effective use of prefectural facilities.” It has publicly recruited private power generation companies for this project, which will be operated and managed for the next 20 years. This is the first small hydropower generation project in Ishikawa Prefecture to utilize a public facility—an erosion control dam—with private funding, making it one of the most advanced projects in Japan.

  • Started operation: February 2015
  • Authorized output: 198 kW
  • Annual power generation: 970 MWh (for 270 ordinary households)
  • Facility utilization rate: 55.8%

Yudani River Small Hydro Power Plant

The Yudani River Small Hydro Power Plant operates using water from the Yudani River in the Shō River system, a Class 1 river that flows through Nanto City. It is a run of river power plant using river water, with a net head of approximately 85 meters. Since the project's conception, NiX Group has conducted research on the optimization of scale and economic rationale and designed, financed, and constructed the project on its own. With a maximum power output of 843 kW, this is a relatively large-scale power plant among small hydro power plants developed by private operators.

  • Started operation: January 2018
  • Authorized output: 843 kW
  • Annual power generation: 4,100MWh(for 1,200 ordinary households)
  • Facility utilization rate: 57.2%

Kanazawa Yuwaku Small Hydro Power Plant

This project is to revitalize and restore the former Hakuunro Kawachi Power Plant located on the Asano River (Yuwakumagari-machi and Yuwakukawachi-machi) in the Ono River system, a Class 2 river. A feasibility study, local coordination, acquisition of permits and approvals, and various designs for the project started in August 2014, and the power plant began operation in April 2022. Through the revitalization and restoration project of the former Hakuunro Kawachi Power Plant, the only small hydro power plant in the Asano River system, we also hope to contribute to efforts to revitalize and promote the local community around Kanazawa Yuwaku Hot Springs, which is called the “back room” of Kanazawa City.

  • Started operation: April 2022
  • Authorized output: 160 kW
  • Annual power generation: 1,176MWh(for 280 ordinary households)
  • Facility utilization rate: 95.0%
